Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring above a crowded coastal beach suddenly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.
Recordings uploaded on the internet depict the chopper commencing to spiral over Huntington Beach then plunging towards the border of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a set of stairs adjacent to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Update
Emergency responders reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on that day.
Three individuals on the street were injured. Information on their condition were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
Planned Function
The department indicated the chopper was connected to an yearly “Cars and Copters” charity gathering set for Sunday.
