Skydance Paramount Plans to Eliminate Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Skydance Paramount plans to start significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 positions in the United States within a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August valued at $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are expected, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce all specifics via its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Prior news had indicated the company aimed to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by early November.

Until December 2024, the company had about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 contract workers.

The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
